COURSE DURATION: 5 day workshop

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: US ID 229995 & Medically Fit

Target Audience: The Fall Arrest Supervisors Learning program is aimed at persons who have to supervise large working groups of people who have successfully completed the Basic Fall Arrest Technician Course

Relevance: This course covers the assessment of a worksite for work-at-height and prepares a Fall Protection Plan. The Fall Arrest Supervisor and Fall Arrest Rescue course is presented as one learning program over the same period. After completing this learning program, a Fall Arrest Supervisor will be able to compile all required documentation for working-at-height (such as a Risk Assessment and Fall Protection Plan) and be able to rescue an unconscious victim in a fall arrest situation.

Included in Course: Learner Manuals, Assessments and SETA approved—Certificate of Competence.

All competent Learners receive a temporary licence to operate and, upon verification through external moderation processes, will receive a Certificate of Competence and a Licence to Operate verified by the IWH valid for 3 years from date of issue.

Course Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Perform a Risk Assessment of the work site for all hazards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fall arrest rescue equipment and advanced rescues
  • Develop a Fall Protection Plan and Fall Plan
  • Ensure the safety of personnel working-at-height
  • Explain the principles of fall arrest rescue and perform rope manoeuvres
  • Select equipment for advanced fall arrest rescues
  • Explain the requirements for equipment inspections
  • Conduct fall arrest rescues
